A 32-year-old commercial pilot has been apprehended by Delhi police for allegedly filming women inappropriately using a concealed camera placed between his toes. Authorities recovered approximately 74 explicit videos from the mobile device of the suspect, identified as Mohit Priyadarshi. The police reported that he is a repeat offender, having been found with a spy camera containing numerous objectionable recordings.
Details of the Arrest
Mohit Priyadarshi, a resident of Agra's Civil Lines, is currently under investigation for the videos found on his phone. Law enforcement is working to identify the locations and victims featured in the recordings, as well as to determine if he has harassed colleagues or passengers at airports or on flights.
How It Unfolded
The arrest took place at his paying guest accommodation in Delhi. Senior police officials revealed that Priyadarshi has been stalking and recording women for over a year. The case emerged on August 30 when a woman in her twenties noticed him following her while using a lighter-shaped device to film her. After escaping, she reported the incident to the police, leading to charges of voyeurism and stalking under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Investigation Process
In response to the sensitive nature of the case, a specialized team was assembled to investigate the complaint. This team, led by Inspector Ajai Kumar Yadav, included several officers who meticulously reviewed CCTV footage and circulated the suspect's image. Local informants were engaged to gather intelligence, which ultimately led to Priyadarshi's capture. During interrogation, he confessed to his actions, stating that he recorded the videos for personal pleasure. A lighter-shaped spy camera was also seized from him.
